A Bedouin resident of the Negev managed to complete the inconceivable feat when he stuffed two camels into his car in order to transport them to the West Bank Judea.

The camels' reality is a lot less funny than the punch line of a joke starting with that same question is meant to be. They are being brought to the West Bank for slaughter, after which their meat will be sold for consumption.

"Once, goods used to be smuggled on camels. Now we are smuggling the camels themselves," joked Amir Abu Jamma, a resident of Ar'ara who photographed to unusual sight.

Abu Jamma said that the car's driver explained to him that he was smuggling the camels to the Palestinian territories to be slaughtered and sold for meat. "It is less expensive than lamb. For the price of four sheep, you can buy one camel," he explained.

Abu Jamma said that he had never seen camels being transported in a car. "This is the first time. It is surprising that one Subaru can hold two camels," he said.

The Border Guard spokesperson reported that it has never encountered attempted efforts to smuggle camels into the territories, but noted that eating camel meat is a known phenomenon there.

Behind the Numbers The WHO's definitions of "overweight" and "obese" are based on an individual's body mass index (BMI), which measures weight relative to height. Overweight is marked by a BMI greater than or equal to 25 and obese is defined as having a BMI greater than or equal to 30. It's important to note that the definitions for overweight can vary by country and study. For example, in China, where the population has a high susceptibility to abdominal obesity (which is not directly reflected in BMI calculations), the cut-off point for overweight is 23. There are currently 1.6 billion overweight adults in the world. In just 10 years, the WHO projects that number will grow by 40%. As far as comparing the obesity rates of countries, "it's hard to make automatic comparisons," says Rigby. "It’s more important to recognize that levels are increasing across the board."

Britain's Missing Top Model, a new reality TV series in which eight disabled women compete for the chance to win a four-page photo spread in the U.K. edition of Marie Claire Magazine. The controversial program already has the makings of a hit. The series premiere on July 1 drew half a million viewers in the U.K., driving BBC Three ratings up by 25% for the 9 p.m. time slot.

The Biggest Paella ever (Spanish Dish)

The "Biggest Paella in the World" event took place in Moratalaz quarter, in Madrid in October 2001. It was sponsored by "Fairy" (a product like "Dawn" in the US), and there were two main challenges to be met: first, to beat the Record of the Biggest Paella in the World, a pan of 21m diameter and 26 cm deep, which could feed 110,000 people. Secondly, to demonstrate that the giant paella pan could be washed with just a 1-liter bottle of the new Fairy dishwashing liquid.

The huge paella had the full support of the Madrid City Hall, Police, Fire Brigade and the Army, which distributed the remaining paella among charity centers. A 250-ton crane was needed to build the pan at the location of the event. The weight of the paella pan was 32 tons.

Under the instructions of a famous local Cheff, the ingredients used were:

6,000 kg. of rice
12,000 kg. of chicken and rabbit
5,000 kg. of vegetables
1,100 liters of olive oil
250 kg. of salt
16 kg. of saffron

13,000 liters of water

It was also needed 30,000 kg of cool and wood in order to cook the giant pan. The cooking process started at 9AM and it was not until 1PM when the food was ready. 10 people were constantly mixing the ingredients while a total of 80 people had a direct role with the cooking.

The event was a complete success and both targets were met!
